Tonights my last night at home, i have to wake up at 4am to catch my flight which leaves at 7:30am. I thought i should say goodbye to you all im taking a journal so i can draw or write in it, if i draw anything amazing (or not) ill show you when i get back which is in a month. If you didn’t know, im going to Europe ill see you when i get back!

The other day at Tafe i nearly finished this city scape picture im working on. I just didn’t have enough time to finish it so ill definitely finish it next week. It was raining so heavy on my way home from tafe, and it was already dark. I stopped behind a car and then felt someone run into me from behind, luckily it didn’t do any damage but it was annoying because i had to get out into the rain to have a look and all i wanted to do was go home after a long day!

I thought my layout needed a change, so ta-da! it features my mermaid painting, and to change it a bit i added in some seaweed around her, and sparkles (im a sucker for sparkles! ) I like how it turned out so it will probably be staying for awhile. The other day i did my own mini photoshoot and i really like how the photos turned out so i thought i would add them to my portfolio page under photography/modeling (since i model and take photos). I also re did my About Me page adding my cartoon version of myself, and just changed what was said about me. That’s pretty much all i have done site wise! i think it needed some work done to it so im happy

Life wise, im currently on two weeks school holidays so right now i either go to work or be lazy and sit around at home all day I know i should be doing my major works (im writing my own story and making a graphic novel) or something more productive than watching tv shows, eating, and what ever else i do!

I almost forgot (and i can’t believe i almost forgot!), last week i got a new computer, a 21.5 inch mac its so much faster than my old mac, i love the cordless mouse and keyboard, and it makes using the computer so much more enjoyable and digital art as well, i have no lag which is just wonderful so expect some painting videos in the future, i have a really good screen recorder program and it doesn’t lag when i paint unlike my old computer, so ill hopefully get a few painting videos up! Its late so i should be off to bed night.

On Tuesday i finally finished my black and white portrait that i have been doing at TAFE. I finished the felt tip pen section (bottom) and the gouache (paint) section (top) and im very happy with the results. The photos i take are not very good quality because they’re only taken with my iphone and and angle i take it at makes the led pencil section shine from the light, but if you look at it front on it looks better and the tones look more even.

I decided to change the picture of myself in my sidebar, and it now changes! i thought some more recent photos would be good =] Oh and guess what, its one month until my 18th birthday! im excited i can’t wait!
Oh, and something else exciting happened, i got promoted at work! I work at McDonalds (ehehe) and im know a crew trainer, which is a level higher than normal crew, but i have to train new crew and do other things, i can also tell people what to do yay haha!

I’ve currently had a headache for 24 hours, and i still have it. I don’t know why, maybe because im getting sick or its because i only have to wear my retainer at night so my teeth are not used to it and i get a headache… i really dont know but i want it to go away!

On another note i went to tafe today, i didn’t really feel like going because i felt like shit, but i like tafe so i wanted to go. I just continued to work on my black and white portrait that i talked about in my previous post. I finished the charcoal section and started the pen stippling section. Pen stippling is so damn time consuming, it takes forever to do! that’s why i haven’t done much lol. I had to do pen stippling once in grade 6 and i didn’t like it then so when i found out i had to do it here i was like omg no haha. But im getting there, the result is quite satisfying. I think it looks pretty shit now to be honest, but once im done i think i will like it! =]

Today i made some pixel icons for the websites you can find me on such as deviantart, twitter, formspring, youtube and model mayhem. I think there cute and look better than just links. I need to make one more to make them even in the sidebar but i don’t really have another website to put there, yes im picky and like things to be even, lol!

My TAFE course is going well, i really love it. The other week we did some tonal scales (one end is black and the other is white, then you have to put in all the tones in between so its a gradient) in three different mediums, pencil, charcoal and gouache. That was preparation for the black and white portrait we are drawing. The portrait is split into four sections horizontally and each section is done in a different medium and we have to make all the tones in each medium the same. The other day i started the portrait and i finished the pencil section as seen below. I like the result, but im kind of scared ill mess it up with the other mediums. It is good practice though, ill keep you updated every week when i do more.
